Second stop on Curt's journey to discover the flavor of China's intangible heritage takes him to Huangshan, Anhui Province.

In the remote mountain village of Houkeng, Curt visits a national-level inheritor of the Taiping Houkui tea-making technique, a centuries-old craft known for its precision and artistry.

At a local tea art vocational school, he explores a modern twist on tradition: innovative tea drinks that blend tea with chili, grains, fruit, and fermented rice. These bold creations leave Curt surprised and inspired.

In response, he crafted a black tea and strawberry mousse infused with Western flavors, as his own interpretation of tea.

Through this dialogue in tea, Curt discovers a harmony between Eastern and Western palates -- a shared language of taste.
